My Story

I am Gulshah your natural and fun
Melbourne wedding photographer
I am a wife to my husband Elyas and momma to my weird cat Mace. I am a Melbourne based wedding photographer but can travel all around to document a wedding.
I lived the first 23 years of my life in Istanbul, a city so hectic and so delightful to experience. I moved to Australia in 2010 to study. I have made myself a home in the somewhat less hectic Melbourne. What it may lack in craziness, it makes up for with diverse cultures and beautiful landscapes.
Having had a successful career as a graphic designer, I was always drawn to the camera. Eventually, my journey began as a full-time wedding photographer in 2015. From the moment I shot my first wedding, I was hooked. I just loved what weddings stand for, the joy, the intimacy, the emotion.
So just a normal person (with a touch of weirdness) who loves cats, traveling, and cooking (prepare yourself for a long cooking-related conversation). And when I am not photographing weddings (or my cat) I will be hiking in some forest or on a beach soaking up the sunshine with my husband.
My Approach

My approach is quite simple;
It will be a stress-free environment. I’m pretty laid back and I’ll make this as smooth as possible for you.
I'm all about the connection (not getting some epic Instagram photo), I believe in authenticity, and documenting what I see in a way that illustrates something heart-warmingly memorable and directly aligning with the moments experienced. I aim to create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere from the first point of contact all the way through to the wedding day and even after it.
I challenge myself all the time by refining techniques and constantly developing and my craft. The greatest skill I gained from wedding photography is to be able to bring out the best in you (even the most camera-shy) and create an environment that you are comfortable in so you can truly be yourself, not be told to be anyone you are not.
I am a big believer of authentic moments with a touch of glam
I always get this question from couples;
“what do you need from us?”
Killer question!
You just do you! No awkward posing which is not so fun either to do or shoot, I want you to be your ultimate intense selves, show me how you love each other, and let me showcase this, in its all honest glory and uniqueness, allowing your personalities to shine through the shots, believe me, you'll feel these photos to your core. I do not want to be just a vendor, I want to be your friend, a friend that cleans your dress from sticks, brings you food, and cries at your wedding.
I find it incredibly rewarding to be trusted to tell people’s stories through my images. If you let me be a part of your journey, whether it be an elopement or the full shebang, I would love to be “the one”.
